Canadian Thanksgiving is long gone, and everything was Christmas-afied starting several weeks ago around here. It has felt strange for us – to say the least!
Two weekends ago, we went with some of our new friends from Regent (German exchange students!) to the Christmas market downtown. We enjoyed looking at all the handmade things and chatting about Weihnachtsmärkte.
This past weekend, we got even more in the Christmas spirit by decorating our apartment! This is our favorite season to decorate for, so we cranked up the 50’s holiday jingles and swaying to the music of Franky, Bing Crosby, and Ella, we put up lights, and splashes of burgundy and forrest green everywhere.
As part of the festivities, I hosted a Christmas craft party on Saturday where 6 of us “crafty” women got together to make candles, lip gloss and advent calendars together. We shared stories, creative ideas and home-made desserts. It was a fantastic time to get to know other godly women and make Christmas goodies to give away as gifts. (This was the second year I hosted a Christmas craft party, and it’s quickly becoming one of my new favorite traditions!!)
Now comes the hard part: waiting a full month until we get to celebrate the birth of our Savior! :)
